Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am offering virtual birth doula services on a sliding scale. Contact me if you are pregnant and are looking for support.
Providing individualized, compassionate support to expectant families
I was born and raised in New York City, where I developed a deep appreciation for good bagels and pizza by the slice. While the food is reason enough to fall in love with New York, I love this city because it is home to precious childhood memories, nostalgic smells, and the most amazing people in the world, my family. They have shown me what unconditional love and support looks like my entire life, and they are the reason I became a doula.
I moved to Seattle in 2015, which is where I first learned what a doula was and discovered the magic of birthwork. Providing familial support is my passion - I have previously worked in childcare and have always felt that families are the most powerful forces in the world. I attended my first doula training at The Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations at Bastyr University, and went on to work as a contracted birth doula with the Swedish Medical Center Doula Program until August 2019, when I moved back home to New York City to be closer to my own family.
I believe that the way an individual is treated during childbirth (how they feel they are listened to, respected, and validated) has an enormous impact on their transition into parenthood. As a doula, my values are rooted in reproductive justice. Every new parent deserves to feel that their voice is heard, that their identity is seen and valued, that their holistic wellness is prioritized, and that they will receive continuous, individualized, compassionate care during one of the most important moments of their lives. I am happy to support familial units of all kinds, and I am especially dedicated to providing for LGBTQ+ identifying people and families. I have supported 70+ births and have previous experience with VBAC, single parents, addiction recovery, postpartum mood disorders, high-risk, cesarean, induced, and unmedicated births.
When I’m not attending births, you can usually find me posted up at one of my favorite coffee shops, strolling in the park with my wife and dog, or knitting a cozy scarf that I have definitely been working on for over 3 years.
